The charm and innovations of the fabric world meet every year on the shores of Lake Como at the Proposte Fair, which attracts textile professionals from around the world. This year, we from Lauritzon participated as a team of four, full of enthusiasm and expectations. The scenery was like something straight out of a postcard, with historic palaces and magnificent villas welcoming us to the Cernobbio area.

The fair’s offerings are not limited to the stunning surroundings; they provide a unique opportunity to explore new textiles and trends. Particularly delightful this year was the abundant variety of patterns available; there were traditional prints, jacquards, graphic designs, and organic shapes. Bouclé continues to be a strong trend in upholstery fabrics. Newcomers included highly textured bouclés and patterned options. Chenille fabrics are also emerging as a strong trend for fall decor, offering softness and luxury. Textures featured long piles, multicolored, and even towel-like surfaces.

Shiny, lustrous, and glittery fabrics are making a spectacular comeback in interior trends. Although this trend was already noticeable at the 2024 Heimtextil Fair earlier this year, it was further reinforced at Proposte. The shine and glow appeared in both upholstery and curtain fabrics, ranging from a single metallic thread that adds a subtle sheen among other threads to fully shiny fabrics. We loved these stunning fabrics and hope they find their way into Nordic homes, bringing a touch of elegance and interesting material combinations to Scandinavian minimalism.

The Como fabric fair did not disappoint, once again offering inspiration, interesting innovations, and meetings with international colleagues. We eagerly anticipate working on our new collection and providing you with beautiful new fabrics.
